Fire Destroys Long Residence - The Bastrop, Texas, fire of the first week of September, 2011, destroyed our current President's residence, out buildings, and machinery

Request for help:

By now most of you have probably heard that two of our NCVA Shipmates, Lee Mobley and Ray Long "Lost All" in the forest fire that hit east of Austin, Texas, in the community of Bastrop. Both have stated that they are "Ok" but have lost many prized possessions which include their Navy Memorabilia, computer and family records and photos. Knowing NCVA members, most will not admit that they need help. We know they do.

Accordingly, the Smoky Mountain Chapter-NCVA, is establishing the "BASTROP RELIEF FUND" drive today to help Lee and Ray. Please send a cash donation made payable: SMOKY MOUNTAIN CHAPER-NCVA and note the "For" on the check to "Bastrop Relief Fund"
